Glazer is an advanced 2D and 3D Vision Robot Guidance application. It features a user-friendly plug-and-play sensor equipped with red and white lighting units, specifically designed to accommodate various object surfaces. Unlike conventional robot guidance systems, Glazer surpasses limitations imposed by its field of view (FOV). Glazer facilitates precise robot guidance for diverse applications, ranging from small screw assembly to tasks involving large objects such as panel handling and insertion of car windows. Moreover, Glazer offers comprehensive functionality by incorporating inspection capabilities such as Optical Character Recognition (OCR), and Optical Character Verification (OCV). This all-in-one solution allows Glazer to perform inspections, and recognize and verify characters optically, thereby enhancing its overall utility for robot guidance.

Setting up Glazer and URCap is a seamless process with template setup options.

Here is how it works:

  • The URCap initiates an initial calibration process between Glazer and the target object. Unlike traditional robot vision calibration methods, this step only occurs once and doesn't require a calibration plate.
  • Utilize the URCap to define robot positions for measuring around the target object.
  • At each robot position, Glazer captures a measurement image using either a 2D or 3D camera.
  • Glazer analyzes all the images to determine the deviations from the target object's default setting.
  • Based on the detected movement, Glazer calculates corrections to the robot's position in order to compensate for the deviations.
  • The URCap applies the calculated corrections provided by Glazer, allowing the robot end effector to accurately reach the intended position on the target object.

This streamlined process eliminates the need for complex calibration plates and ensures precise positioning by utilizing Glazer's analysis and correction capabilities in conjunction with the URCap.
