Desoutter UR Caps pushes the logic a step further by allowing novice users to install a tightening loop - with a socket bit tray if needed – on an UR Cobot in record time. The open protocol communication between the end of arm tool and the cobot offers free fieldbus for data collection to ensure proper quality driven production. The selection of a different socket or bit in a socket bit tray can be fulfilled automatically with optimized trajectories for production enhancement.

Follow the little needed settings step by step on the UR Caps and on the tool’s controller to ensure the open protocol communication between both. No I/O mapping is requested.

If using a socket and bit tray for automation, determine the exact coordinates of the dropping and picking up spots with a step-by-step setting of the UR Cap RELEASE and SELECTION features.

When the cobot needs a tightening operation from the tool, it calls a Pset. When the operation is done, the controller sends a tightening result to the cobot which switchs to the next sequence.

To release or select a socket or bit, the cobot follows the standard trajectories given by the UR Cap according to location.
