Metromecánica has developed the ISI ROB, an innovative 3D metrology system. This automated Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) simplifies the inspection of manufactured products on the workshop floor. It boasts user-friendly features, allowing any operator to position the product, select the part model, and initiate the inspection program. The system generates a comprehensive 3D metrology report automatically and instantly. The ISI ROB is particularly well-suited for repetitive 3D inspections, eliminating the high costs associated with traditional physical gauges, one-time use, space occupation, and maintenance. With this system, all measurements are digitally recorded, enabling statistical analyses and seamless sharing of dimensional quality across different departments within the company. The technology integrates a non-contact 3D scanner with a UR cobot, a turntable, and a powerful metrology software. These components work together seamlessly through Agile 3D, an application dedicated to simplifying the extraction of dimensions from even the most intricate drawings.
ISI ROB functions as a non-contact measuring machine, incorporating a Creaform laser scanner to capture point clouds dynamically. It references various movements and positions through the use of optical targets. The UR robot and turntable included in the system facilitate the movements of both the part and the sensor.
The software solution is a dual combination. Agile 3D integrates all aspects, including movement, point cloud capture, and metrology. On the other hand, metrology calculations are carried out by either Polyworks or Metrolog, depending on client preferences, providing flexibility in software options.
