The DTI SmartLogger is a URCap which provides an easy interface for logging process-centric information and share this with various serves (locally or globally). The e-Series edition enables direct logging in Azure though connections to Azure IoT hubs. This provides direct access to the complete Azure suite for data storage, analysis and visualisation through tools such as Microsoft PowerBI.The locally logged information can optionally be automatically synchronized to a remote server. Additionally, the option to use a heartbeat function is available as well. The heartbeat function is useful to enable central monitoring of several installations. The software is easily installed as a URCaps plugin.
Through a simple setup step the robot is configured to log appropriate data at runtime. The URCap provides two programming nodes: DTILog and DTILogMenu.
- The DTILog is used to log process-centric variables at user-defined instances
- The DTILogMenu presents the user with a pop-up with configurable buttons. This very useful, for instance, when the system has been idle for a certain time-period. Upon resuming normal operation, the users could be asked why the system was idle doing that period (breakdown, lunch, missing parts or similar). This can then give detailed insight into the general state of operation, and provides necessary information to do further OEE calculations.
Additionally, the DTI SmartLogger automatically logs relevant information in the background such as emergency-stop and safety-stop.
All the logged information is stored locally, with the possibility to synchronize with a remote storage (SMB).
